VR is the new “forward thinking” tech

Investment in VR is paying dividends, with the industry expected to achieve its first $US1 billion year in 2016. And the public response to the new technology is very positive:

  • 91 percent say they are happy and comfortable using VR
  • 71 percent applaud brands for using VR
  • 58 percent of new users were “amazed” at the quality
  • 65 percent of new users are interested in buying the headsets

The stats are from a study by marketing research firm Greenlight, who say:

We’re seeing that specific VR activities have unique emotional footprints. For example, among our sample, watching a live broadcast event in virtual reality generates significantly higher ratings of positive emotions such as “happy” and “energetic” when compared with playing a VR video game.”
